The Andrews Labor Government is encouraging more Victorians to consider a rewarding career as a teacher, to match its unprecedented investment in our schools.
A new advertising campaign launched on Sunday evening across TV, outdoor advertising, digital, print and radio is encouraging more Victorians to consider entering the teaching profession.
Victoria is growing faster than any other state, with 115,000 additional students expected to enter the education system over the next five years. The campaign will ensure there are enough teachers to meet this demand.
The new advertisements specifically target young people, particularly school leavers, to inspire them to put teaching first in their university course preferences, and to consider teaching as an alternative after the release of ATARs on 12 December.
The Labor Government has made the biggest investment in the teaching workforce in Victoria’s history, including extra payments to encourage teachers into specialist and hard-to-staff positions, along with many other resources and training opportunities to help teachers develop their professional skills.
Teachers are also teaching in state-of-the-art classrooms and in brand new schools, thanks to the Labor Government’s record investment of $6.1 billion to deliver more than 1,400 school upgrades, as well as 100 new schools by 2026.
Ensuring a steady supply of well-trained and well-supported teachers is crucial for achieving the Education State aim of every student being able to access a great local school and a quality education, no matter where they live.
