Families deserve great places to come together.
The Carroll Labor Government is delivering more parks and green spaces where locals can spend time outdoors, enjoy a picnic, fire up the barbecue or let the kids play close to home.
Minister for Housing, Building and Precincts Nick Staikos today announced 48 projects will share in $9.34 million through Round 2 of the $30 million Pick My Park program.
The program helps create and upgrade parks, playgrounds and community spaces right across Melbourne.
The projects range from playground upgrades and new pocket parks to improved accessibility, ensuring more people can enjoy local open spaces.
We’re also introducing new Public Open Space Standards to ensure communities have access to high-quality parks and green spaces within walking distance of home.
These standards will help deliver the parks, playgrounds, sporting fields and open spaces families need, making neighbourhoods healthier, more liveable and better connected.
The Carroll Labor Government cares about making life better for working families.
