The Carroll Labor Government is ensuring more kids across the state will have access to life-saving water safety skills at an affordable price.
Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence today announced that 159 venues have been locked in to deliver the 2027 VICSWIM Summer Kidz program.
The program is reaching more venues than last year, giving more kids access to affordable swimming lessons.
This includes over 100 venues participating in regional Victoria.
Enrolments open on Wednesday 11 November for children aged four to 12 years.
Five lessons will be subsidised, costing a total of $43, delivered over the course of one week in January.
More than 16,000 kids took part last summer, and with more venues participating this year, the program can reach even more families.
For many children expected to participate, it will be their only swimming lessons in 12 months.
Since 1976, the VICSWIM program has helped kids learn the skills they need to stay safe in and around the water.
It’s part of wide-ranging efforts in response to drownings seen in recent summers, and to ensure even more kids get their chance to learn water-safety basics at lessons that are more affordable and accessible for families.
The Carroll Labor Government is easing pressure on family budgets while helping kids learn skills that could save their lives.
