With $148 million for local government and suburban development, the Andrews Labor Government will deliver on the projects that matter to local families – at the same time delivering a boost to the state’s economic recovery.

The Victorian Budget 2020/21 invests $1.5 billion in new tax relief for Victorian businesses and families.

The Andrews Labor Government will invest more than $1.46 billion to transform Melbourne’s Arts Precinct –bringing visitors from interstate and overseas, creating thousands of Victorian jobs and giving families a new public place to enjoy and explore.

As businesses reopen and people get back to work, the Andrews Labor Government will invest $111 million to unlock Victoria’s planning system, speeding up delivery of vital major projects and boosting construction of social and affordable housing – and the jobs that go with them.

The Andrews Labor Government will invest $235 million to build our Recovery Workforce to create 500 new jobs across mental health, family violence, health and child protection.

This pandemic has thrown the safety and wellbeing of our loved ones in some private aged care facilities into sharp relief. That’s why, in an Australian first, Victoria will step in and provide $40 million to help cover the cost of introducing minimum staff-to-resident ratios in private aged care – if the Commonwealth Government as the primary regulator and funder of aged care also comes to the table.

The Victorian Budget 2020/21 will invest an unprecedented extra $1.9 billion to make sure Victorians with disability are supported – including our youngest Victorians.
