The Allan Labor Government is saving families time and money by making kinder easier to access and providing free Kinder Kits.
Premier Jacinta Allan and Minister for Children Lizzie Blandthorn today announced 24 new kinders will open on or near school sites this year, creating more than 3,250 additional spots for children.
One of the new kinders is Glengala Kindergarten, with two rooms accommodating 66 children at a time.
The Labor Government is opening another 25 Kinders on School Sites by 2028, for a total of more than 120.
It’s all about helping thousands of families get time back in their day and avoid the dreaded double drop-off.
We’re also giving every child starting three-year-old kinder a free Kinder Kit filled with books, toys and games.
No family should have to choose between putting food on the table or giving their kids a great early education.
That’s why we’re funding 35 new and expanded kinders across Victoria this year, delivering an extra 4,200 places.
That’s why our nation-leading Free Kinder program will now give families up to $2,700 per child, every year.
That’s why we’re investing billions to build and expand kindergartens statewide.
Since Free Kinder started in 2023, the Labor Government has picked up the bill for Victorian families and saved them about $980 million in education fees.
This year, they’ll save another $350 million.
