More Station Car Parking For Epping
The Andrews Labor Government will build more than 70 new car parking spaces at Epping Station as part of the biggest one-off boost to train station parking in Victoria’s history.
The Victorian Budget 2018/19 will provide $60 million to build more than 2,000 new parking spaces, deliver more secure storage facilities for cyclists and improve access for pedestrians at key stations across Melbourne.
The funding will boost will deliver 74 new parking spaces at Epping Station – a significant increase on the 40 spaces currently available.
Parking at Belgrave, Sandown Park and Craigieburn stations will also be boosted, and other stations will be considered for upgrades as part of the package.
The extra spaces mean commuters will no longer clog up neighbouring streets with their cars and will free up more car parking for local traders, shoppers and residents.
The extra spaces add to the more than 3,000 new and upgraded car parks the Labor Government has built at metropolitan and regional train stations over the past three years to help more commuters get a car park when they take the train.
Sites were chosen based on current capacity and demand, available transport land and population growth area data.

“Epping Station has desperately needed more car parking spaces. These 74 new spaces will ease some of the pain for both commuters boarding trains at Epping and residents who have to put up with cars clogging up their streets. The Mernda rail extension that Labor is building will also free up parking spaces as residents further down the line will be able to park at a station closer to them.”
“The Andrews Labor Government is helping turn our northern suburbs into greater and greater places to live.”
