Celebrating Victoria’s Vibrant Multiculturalism In 2020
The Andrews Labor Government is helping more multicultural and multifaith communities showcase their cultural heritage and traditions through festivals and events.
Minister for Multicultural Affairs Richard Wynne today opened round one of the Multicultural Festivals and Events Program, encouraging organisations to apply for funding for events held between 1 July 2020 and 31 December 2020.
Small grants up to $2,000 (community stream) and large grants between $7,000 and $70,000 (partnerships stream) are available.
It’s important that all Victorians can share their heritage and embrace diversity, with the program having previously supported a range of events, like food festivals, art and cultural performances as well as popular street festivals.
The program is particularly keen to hear from new applicants, those in regional areas and from new and emerging communities.
A regional roadshow will take place across Victoria from early next month to inform local communities and organisations about the program and how to apply.
In the last financial year, this program supported over 750 events and had an estimated 2.5 million participants, delivering more than $10 million of total economic activity to our state.
Applications close on 10 March 2020. For more information or to apply, visit vic.gov.au/multicultural-festivals-and-events-program.
