Victorians are invited to have their say on how the Andrews Labor Government can support people who give up their time to volunteer.

Whether you help at a school, plant trees, support people with a disability, coach a sports team, spend time at a soup kitchen or you fight fires – your feedback can help shape the new Victorian Volunteer Strategy.

The new strategy will help thousands more Victorians get the support they need to help others and it will help strengthen our strong and vibrant culture of volunteering into the future.

Nearly a million Victorians engage in volunteering activities each year, with many more participating in other forms of community support.

Volunteers, community members and leaders from community organisations are encouraged to share their experiences, and views about the challenges and opportunities met by the volunteering sector.

Parliamentary Secretary for Carers and Volunteers Anthony Carbines kicked off the first in a series of strategy consultations for 2020 in Ballarat at a community workshop on Monday, 24 February.

The Labor Government has invested $500,000 to support volunteering initiatives over two years in the 2018-19 Victorian State Budget, including digital literacy and leadership training programs.
