Football clubs across Victoria that want to work with their local communities to educate the importance of road safety will be able to apply for their share of the $1.3 million Toward Zero Club grants program.

Minister for Road Safety and the TAC Jaala Pulford today announced the expansion of the grants into thirteen regional and rural football leagues and eight metropolitan leagues in 2020.

Football and netball clubs are the lifeblood of so many communities which is why it’s so important they are encouraging their players, families and supporters to drive safely on our roads.

Last year, clubs in the Barwon and Goldfields football regions were invited to apply for up to $10,000 from the inaugural Towards Zero Club Grants program with the TAC engaging clubs across the state through road safety education and training programs with players and members, and promotional activities engaging spectators.

Lake Wendouree Football Club, in the Goldfields League used their successful grant to help pay for a new, electronic scoreboard that will play TAC road safety ads during matches in 2020.

Clubs from across Victoria are invited to apply for grants of up to $10,000 by demonstrating their commitment to keep their participants safe on the road.
