Elizabeth Langdon has been appointed as Victoria’s new Victims of Crime Commissioner, providing a strong voice for victims of crime to the Allan Labor Government. 

The Commissioner plays a vital role by advocating for victims’ rights in the justice system and providing advice to government on issues affecting victims of crime.

Ms Langdon will also oversee agencies’ compliance with the Victims Charter to ensure victim rights and entitlements are upheld.

A well-respected executive leader, Ms Langdon has more than 30 years’ experience working in public and private sectors in Australia and overseas on policy reform, research and project delivery.

Ms Langdon has held multiple Commissioner and CEO positions throughout her career. This includes Acting Health Complaints Commissioner, CEO of the Victorian Royal Commission into the Casino Operator and Licence and Acting Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of the Victorian Public Sector Commission.

Ms Langdon has also been a Deputy Secretary in several government departments and led executive teams, driving positive outcomes in the health, human services and justice portfolios.

Ms Langdon will start in the role next month, replacing former Commissioner Fiona McCormack.
