Supporting Vets Through Recovery And Beyond
The Andrews Labor Government is making sure veterans continue to receive the support they need and the recognition they deserve through the recovery phase of the pandemic – and beyond.
Minister for Veterans Shaun Leane today opened a second-round of 2020 grants across three funding streams aimed at improving the lives of veterans and ensuring their stories and sacrifice are remembered for future generations.
Ex-service and not-for-profit organisations as well as local governments and educational institutions are encouraged to apply for funding under the three streams which include:
- The Anzac Day Proceeds Fund to assist with direct welfare support, such as living expenses, health and wellbeing, education and school expenses, transport costs and social activities
- Grants of up to $30,000 through The Restoring Community War Memorials Program to restore or improve memorials, honour rolls and avenues of honour around the state
- Grants of up to $30,000 through The Victoria Remembers Program, which supports projects that honour or commemorate the service of veterans as well as educate Victorians about their contribution.
Organisations hoping to conduct public commemorative events are encouraged to review the COVIDSafe Public Events before applying.
The framework helps organisers ensure they meet their safety obligations and responsibilities so that Victorians stay safe and we stay open on the other side of this pandemic.
Applications close Monday, 8 February 2021.
